About CCC
Our Mission
We are a church for ALL people. We share in the worship of God in the Christian tradition, making God’s grace and love known as we work towards peace and justice for all.
Our Values
Celebration Community Church (CCC) is a non-denominational, multi-generational congregation that seeks to tell the story of God’s love to all of God’s children. Located in the historic Near Southside of Fort Worth, our primary area of focus is the LGBTQ+ community in North Texas. We are a congregation that focuses on caring for the most vulnerable and marginalized among us through community involvement, support groups and worship. Members of our congregation come from many different religious backgrounds, and we believe that everyone has a story which can empower, encourage, and enrich the lives of others. We believe that as we share our stories and God’s story we can learn to live and worship together, building bridges rather than walls.
CCC Interim Pastor, Rev. David Grebel
I don’t have to tell you what a special place Celebration is and to serve beside each of you as your Pastor for the Interim is one of the greatest honors I’ve ever had. I am most grateful to God for the opportunity to use my gifts as we continue to make Celebration “a church where you will find extravagant hospitality and traditional worship without judgment.”
After spending almost 30 years in higher education I’m excited to return to my original calling as a pastor. I’m still on my journey like each of you. And like you I know that we will someday arrive. But until then I want to live by the first of the Benedictine Rules:
Live this life and do whatever is done in a spirit of Thanksgiving…
I hope you’ll join us in our journey of thanksgiving. There’ll be a place for you.

Our Story
Celebration Community Church (CCC) began on January 10, 1993, as a satellite of White Rock Community Church in Dallas. A small group of 35 visionaries met in a recreation room above a garage, united by a dream to create a church centered on love, inclusion, and community. Over time, the congregation rented space at a Unitarian church in East Fort Worth before leasing it’s current home at 908 Pennsylvania Avenue in 1998.
Under the leadership of Rev. Carol West, who became CCC’s first full-time pastor in 1998, the church blossomed. With the support of dedicated members like John Rhodes and a committed Board of Directors, CCC grew through vibrant programming, worship, and outreach. A significant milestone was the successful fundraising effort to purchase the building, exceeding their fundraising goal in 1999.
Rev. Jorene Taylor Swift served as the pastor from 2019 until her retirement in October 2024. During her time at CCC, Rev. Swift’s compassionate leadership and focus on community engagement have strengthened CCC’s mission and our community. As our congregation searches for our new pastor, Rev. David Grebel is our Pastor for the Interim and is working diligently to continue to foster a community of love and faith.
From humble beginnings, CCC has grown into a thriving congregation. Known for it’s extravagant hospitality, CCC continues to be a beacon of hope, particularly for the LGBTQ+ community, offering worship, support groups, and community involvement. For over 30 years CCC has celebrated diversity, embraced tradition without judgment, and shared God’s love with open arms and hearts.
