Lee Nelson, Director of Music at Celebration Community Church, was born in Amarillo, Texas, in 1969.  In addition to being CCC’s Director of Music, Lee also works fulltime as Senior Director and Manager of Shannon Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth, having been in the funeral business for 12 years.

At a very young age, Lee’s love of, as well as his talent for, music became apparent to his family and friends.  At age nine, long before his feet could reach the pedals, Lee began playing the organ.  While a senior in high school, Lee began organ lessons at the church in his home town.  Before long, he was playing at all three services in his church, as well as directing and conducting the choir, the congregation and the orchestra. 

While living in Dallas, Lee became very involved in directing, as well as participating in, Christmas and Easter pageants.  Beginning in 1992, Lee took voice lessons which he continued until the year 2000.  Lee has toured with various choruses throughout the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland. 

In January 2002, Lee and his partner, Tim Cowan, became Interim Music Directors for Celebration Community Church.  Under Lee’s leadership, the choir’s repertoire has greatly expanded from simple hymns to more difficult pieces of music for special services.  In addition, he has expanded the choir into two choirs to achieve antiphonal sound.

Celebration Community Church is indeed blessed with the dedication and commitment Lee brings to our Music Ministry.
