John Rhodes, Administrator ![]() John is proud to be a native of Fort Worth. He brings impressive management and organizational credentials to Celebration that he developed during years of working in local business. Born in Fort Worth and raised in Haltom City, John graduated from Birdville Schools in 1953 -- and joined the Army. He served the Army in El Paso and in Fontainbleau, France. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and entered Texas Christian University. In June 1960, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. John worked at Morrison Supply Company for 26 years. They had enough confidence in him to elected him their Secretary-Treasurer and put him on the Board of Directors in 1971. In 1985, he was elected Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He retired in February 1996. He volunteered at the AIDS Outreach Center for several months and was then asked to join their paid staff as assistant to the Director of Finance in October 1996. In November of 1998, he says he "retired to do work which gives me pleasure." Since then, he has served without pay as Celebration's administrator. He brings to Celebration a much-needed head for business that helps keep the office of the church flowing smoothly so the ministries can continue. And you never know what else he might be doing. Don't be surprised to see him serving as usher to greet guests at a memorial service or mowing the lawn. If it happens at Celebration, you can be assured that John was in some way involved. Before becoming a member of Celebration, he attended regularly at Unity Church of Fort Worth for about a year. Although he grew up Baptist, when he went to church as an adult he attended First United Methodist in downtown. |
